Holly and Matt's Elopement Day
If there was one word to describe Holly and Matt's relationship, it would be simple. Simple in all the very best ways. Simple in the way that their love is all they need. No frills, no extras - just the two of them in the beautiful Big Sur landscape. They started their wedding day getting ready in separate cabins–Matt at Ripplewood, and Holly at Glen Oaks. The grassy lawn in front of the "Big Sur" cabin was the perfect backdrop for their First Look. We then walked through the forest into the perfect redwood grove, where the couple read their vows to one another in a private ceremony.
After they were finished reading their vows, I took Matt and Holly for a tour of Glen Oaks and showed them all of my favorite spots. Glen Oaks never disappoints. The beautifully landscaped property boasts all types of foliage that you won't find at any other campground in Big Sur. I always find something new to photograph every time I'm there. Before we headed down the coast, Matt and Holly had a celebratory toast of Matt's favorite whiskey. What better way to have a drink than in the amazing outdoor soaking tubs?!?
We then hopped in the car and headed down Highway One towards Garrapata. We decided to stop along the way, changed into some hiking boots (I would've told Holly to wear those amazing sparkly boots all day if they were safe!) and found a beautiful grove of pampas grass. We were blessed with sunshine, and surprisingly not too much wind. Our next stop was the iconic Bixby Bridge for a few quick snapshots.
We ended our day at Garrapata, where Matt and Holly had their First Dance overlooking the Pacific, followed by an adventurous night hike under the stars. This was truly one of my favorite elopements this year. The starts aligned and everything came together perfectly. This sweet couple deserved the perfect day, and I think they got it. Congratulations Holly and Matt!!!
