Small Wedding, Big Love

I was honored to to be asked to shoot this wedding at the Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel California. I have been an admirer of the Preserve for many, many years and like many other photographers - it has always been dream of mine to photograph there. Well, that dream came true and I got to capture the love and memories for not only the bride and groom that day -but all of their adult children who were in attendance that special day.

The couple was married in the warm sunshine on the Golf Club patio surrounded by their family and the breathtaking beauty of the Preserve. The bride got ready for the big day in the historic hacienda with the help of her mother and two daughters. The stunning floral arrangements were lovingly created by Fionna Floral in Pacific Grove. After the ceremony, I took the Bride and Groom on a quick adventure to find the most picturesque backdrops for their backdrops. The Preserve did not disappoint, and we found shade in the arms of 100 year old oak trees, posed by wildflowers at the Hacienda, and bathed in slivers of sunlight near the garden.

Once we returned to the patio, the couple had their first dance as dusk began to settle in. Followed by cutting the elegant minimalistic wedding cake provided by Layers. The groom gave a short and sweet speech and then everyone was seated for an exquisite meal provided by the Preserve. The guests ate and drank on the patio as the sun made its exit and the stars and moon came out to end a truly beautiful evening.
