💍 What to Include in Your Big Sur Proposal

Planning to pop the question in Big Sur? You're in for something magical. Here are a few key things to consider bringing (and planning!) to make your proposal feel effortless, personal, and unforgettable:

1. The Ring (obviously!)

Keep it safely tucked away until the moment’s right — a ring box that’s slim or discreet can be easier to hide in a pocket or bag.

2. A Photographer

Having a photographer hidden nearby (or pretending it’s a couples session!) ensures you’ll have the moment captured beautifully without having to rely on a self-timer or a kind stranger.

3. A Game Plan

Pick a general spot and time — Big Sur lighting is gorgeous at golden hour, and locations like cliffsides or redwood groves are ideal. If you’re unsure where to start, your photographer can help scout the perfect place. All of my Packages include a detailed Location Guide and a phone call to discuss the details to make sure everyone is on the same page before the date of your session.

4. A Champagne Toast (or Favorite Drink)

Popping some bubbly (or even sparkling water or your favorite local wine) is a sweet way to celebrate right after the “yes!” Bonus: it looks great in photos. All of my packages include a bottle of champagne for my couples to have a celebratory champagne spray!
