Henry and Heather stayed at Big Sur Lodge, tucked into the redwoods, which set the tone for the day right away. Getting ready felt calm and unrushed. Heather brought printed photos of the two of them from throughout their relationship and hung them around their cabin to surprise Henry — a small but meaningful detail that made the space feel personal and grounded.
Those quiet moments in the cabin, surrounded by redwoods, gave space to slow down, reflect, and be present before the rest of the day unfolded.
A First Look in the Redwoods
Instead of jumping straight into the ceremony, Henry and Heather chose to have their first look in the redwoods. The forest offered privacy, stillness, and a sense of calm that made the moment feel intimate and unforced.

From the forest, we drove down the coast to Garrapata State Park, where the cliffs drop dramatically into the ocean. With the wind, the open space, and the sound of the waves below, Henry and Heather read their vows to each other.

After the ceremony, we continued south to Pfeiffer Beach to celebrate. Heather and Henry brought a small wedding cake, and Wally was very interested in getting a bite. The celebration felt playful and relaxed — exactly what they wanted.
They popped champagne, sprayed it into the air, laughed, and soaked in the fact that they had just gotten married. No timeline pressure. No expectations. Just space to celebrate in their own way.
