Capturing the beauty of pregnancy against the backdrop of Big Sur's stunning landscapes is a special experience. To make the most of your maternity photoshoot, it's essential to choose the right time of year. Here's a straightforward guide to help you decide:

Best Time of Year for Maternity Photos in Big Sur:

1. Spring:

Spring brings colorful blooms and lush greenery to Big Sur, making it a beautiful time for maternity photos. However, the weather can be unpredictable, so plan for possible rain showers. Definitely have a jacket or sweater on hand, and don't worry - I always have my cute, clear umbrellas with me!

2. Summer:

Long days and warm weather make summer ideal for outdoor photoshoots. Try to avoid crowds by scheduling your session during weekdays or early mornings. And don't let the word "summer" fool you. It is called "June Gloom" on the peninsula for a reason! We tend to get a lot of fog in June - but honestly - it's my favorite! I love the way the fog just hangs low in the mountains - so magical!

3. Fall:

Fall offers stunning foliage and warm hues, creating a cozy atmosphere for maternity photos. Be prepared for warmer temperatures along the coast. September through mid November is actually our "Indian Summer". This time of year is typically the warmest - especially October!

4. Winter:

Winter brings tranquility to Big Sur, with fewer crowds and dramatic views. However, dress warmly and be prepared for chilly and possibly rainy weather. I love Winter in Big Sur, because we get that white, winter light which is so gorgeous!
