A Dreamy Surprise Proposal on Carmel Beach
There’s just something about Carmel Beach — the salty breeze, soft white sand, and those golden West Coast sunsets that seem to glow just a little brighter when love is in the air. And on this particular evening, love was definitely in the air.
The Backstory
Kevin and Aryana were planning a big California road trip to celebrate a few milestones — new home, new adventures, and (unbeknownst to Aryana) a life-changing moment. What she thought was just a romantic walk on the beach turned out to be one of the most unforgettable days of their lives.
Kevin had reached out a few weeks earlier, wanting to pull off a surprise proposal during their time in Carmel-by-the-Sea. He knew Aryana loved the ocean — the calm, the sound of the waves, the way it made everything feel a little slower, a little sweeter. So naturally, Carmel Beach was the perfect place.
The Moment
As the sun started to dip lower in the sky, we strolled down to the beach under the casual pretense of “just taking some photos to remember the trip.” I had Aryana turn around to face the ocean and told her just to close her eyes, because I was going to have Kevin run up behind her and give her a big bear hug. Instead, Kevin dropped to one knee, right there on the sand with the waves in the background. Aryana's face lit up with the most beautiful mix of surprise and emotion. It was raw, joyful, and so full of love. There were happy tears, laughter, and the biggest "yes!" ever.
After the Yes
We popped a little champagne, danced barefoot in the sand, and even took a few Polaroids to freeze the moment in that tangible, nostalgic kind of way. The rest of the evening was spent capturing the two of them being them — playful, connected, and totally glowing from the magic of it all.
