Big Sur Maternity Photographer

Is there anything more beautiful glowing mama, in a gorgeous field of flowers, drenched in sunshine!?!? Taking maternity photos in the Calla Lily Valley in Big Sur is one of my favorite opportunities during springtime. This blooming phenomenon only happens February through April, and it is truly a sight to be seen.

I feel incredibly lucky to be able to call this place "home" which means I get to be your personal tour guide to all of the secret, magical places in Big Sur, California - the Calla Lily Valley being one of them...there is only about a month and a half left of these beauties being in full bloom, so don't wait to long to book your session!

3 tips for your maternity photography session

Here are some great tips for your maternity photography session:

1. Choose a comfortable and flattering outfit that showcases your baby bump.

This is where I come in! When you book a maternity session with me, I send you an extensive style guide that goes over everything! Where to buy or rent a dress for your shoot, what kind of shoes to wear, what type of material photographs best, etc. All of my sessions also come with access to Style and Select which is an awesome online styling site that provides you with the perfect outfits for everyone in the session based on just few quick answers to an online quiz. AND, I also have an amazing Maternity Client Closet for my clients to choose from, including dresses, hats, and sweaters!

2. Try to schedule your session during your second trimester when you have a visible baby bump but are still feeling comfortable.

I typically tell my clients to try and schedule their Maternity sessions between 28-34 weeks. This is when your belly is nice and round, but you can still walk around comfortably for longer periods of time. This is especially important when booking an Adventure Maternity session in Big Sur. We will definitely be moving around quite a bit, and you want to be as comfortable as possible.

3.Relax and have fun, and trust your photographer to capture beautiful and memorable moments.

This is probably the most important tip of them all. I have been photographing beautiful mamas for years, and feel very confident in choosing locations, telling you how to pose for the most flattering angles, helping you choose the right outfit, and keeping you comfortable and safe during our time together. We have a lot of communication before the day of our actual session to make sure that everyone is on the same page and that all of the wants and needs have been addressed.
