I first met Danielle and Ross the year before their wedding when we photographed their engagement session in Big Sur. They chose to do what’s called an adventure engagement session, which means instead of traditional portraits in one location, we spent the afternoon exploring the coastline, stopping at scenic viewpoints and beaches for photos.
That session gave us time to get to know each other before the wedding and allowed them to become comfortable in front of the camera. By the time their wedding day arrived, everything felt natural and easy. They already knew how I work, and they trusted the process—which makes a huge difference when documenting a wedding day.

July on the Monterey Peninsula can sometimes bring coastal fog in the mornings, but Danielle and Ross were lucky with clear blue skies and warm sunshine throughout the day.

Danielle and Ross were relaxed and fully present, enjoying those first moments as newlyweds while their guests mingled during cocktail hour. These in-between moments are often some of my favorites to photograph—real laughter, quiet conversation, and the excitement of the day settling in.
Because we had already done their engagement photos together the year before, portraits felt effortless. They were comfortable being themselves, which always leads to more natural images.

As the evening moved into the reception, guests gathered inside the barn for dinner, toasts, and dancing. The interior of the reception space blends rustic beams with modern touches, creating a warm and inviting environment once the sun goes down.
